The AAI was founded in 1896 ‘to promote and afford facilities for the study of architecture and the allied sciences and arts, and to provide a medium of friendly communication between members and others interested in the progress of architecture’.

Design Symposium and Eames Film Evening at ‘Arts Research: Publics and Purposes’

January 26 2010

A design symposium and screening of Eames films will be held Monday Feb 15th as part of the major conference ‘arts research: publics and purposes’ (Feb 15 - 19). The symposium (2-5 pm) will be chaired by Ali Grehan, City Architect, DCC. It comprises a panel of four speakers and then a keynote address by Eames Demetrios, the grandson of the celebrated designers Charles and Ray Eames who now runs the Eames office, Eames Foundation and is also a film maker and ‘geographer-at-large’.
