Architect’s Description:
Site 1:Ballybrew
A two storey, partially submerged house built into a steep hill. The living room are upstairs to make the most of the views and light and the house itself is a contemporary version of an agricultural shed. The finish externally is green corrugated metal. The interior is made up of exposed blockwork, timber, stained plywood and plastered walls.
Site 2: Newcastle
This is a two storey house with a staggered section which steps back with the slope of the landscape. The plan is organised around small external courtyard spaces which capture and frame interesting relationships with the landscape. The living rooms are on the upper level to capitalise on the daylight and views out over the sea , with the bedroom, yoga room and bike room below. A double height atrium space at the centre of the house visually connects the two floors. We have exposed the timber structure on the upper level and internal block walls internally throughout the house.

Selected by Wallpaper*s Magazine in their Architects Directory as one of the world’s best young architectural talents in 2017 and by the European Centre for Architecture, Art Design, and Urban Studies as one of the “Top 40 under 40 architects” in Europe in 2023.
