Peter Wirtz studied Music in Antwerp, Belgium and then Landscape Architecture at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Since 1990 he runs together with his father Jacques and brother Martin the family business Wirtz International NV and Wirtz Landscape Architecture nv. Together they represent the largest garden and landscape architecture firm in Belgium (employing 50 people) that creates gardens all over the world, including some well-known projects, such as the Antwerp Law Courts, the Carrousel Gardens at the Louvre (Tuilleries) and the gardens of the Elysee Palace in Paris, the Jubilee Park in London, the Alnwick Garden in the U.K. and the cemetery island of Venice. In countries like the Netherlands, Germany, France, Luxembourg, U.K., Spain, Italy, Portugal, Israel, Japan and the U.S.A. there are gardens and landscapes created by Wirtz.
The corporate structure – Wirtz International NV for the design, Wirtz Landscape Architecture nv responsible for the implementation in Belgium – ensures by their highest design quality and by their state of the art construction the perfect realization of private and public gardens.
Wirtz International NV , which was founded in 1989 as an independent design firm, is based on the in 1950 founded firm from landscape architect Jacques Wirtz. Projects for private clients include everything from small courtyard to the outer layers of large estates, corporate sites and private residence real estate developments. Open to the public many parks , boulevards , city squares and city development projects, university campuses , official institutions, museums and street plantings are evidence of the creative work of Wirtz.
