News: New Membership Structure for 2019/2020

AAI membership

The Architectural Association of Ireland is a non-profit voluntary organisation, founded in 1896, with the aim of promoting greater discussion, dissemination and engagement in architecture and the built environment.

The association does not receive any external sources of funding, either private or public, and as such, the AAI relies on the continued support of members and attendees in order to sustain its annual programme of events, publications, and awards.

With a view to guaranteeing a self-sustaining future for the association, the AAI has recently revised its membership structure and entry fees. It is hoped that this framework will provide greater clarity to all regarding the benefits available with each membership tier, in addition to providing greater value to those who choose to support the organisation.

AAI Award entry fees and requirements

The AAI Awards are open only to AAI members. All membership categories provide eligibility to enter.

Please note, however, that entries must match the name attached to the membership category provided e.g. projects entered via an Individual Membership may refer to a single person only, and not to an office or company.

The fee for Early Registration is €125 per project, while the fee for Late Registration is €195 per project. These fees will not apply in the case of membership categories which provide for a number of entries free of charge.

What your support means

The AAI is a voluntary organisation which relies on the support of its members. It is thanks to this commitment that that organisation was able to host fifteen lectures and site visits, two exhibitions, one book launch, an awards scheme, and multiple social events throughout our 2018/19 programme.

For 2019/20, we have confirmed the following schedule of events already confirmed:

18 September – Foreign Correspondence, a panel discussion with Andrew Clancy, Shelley McNamara, Lisa Godson, and Cian Deegan (in association with The Architectural Review)
26 September – Fala Atelier
3 October – Studio Muoto
10 October – Sean Griffiths
24 October – Traumnovelle
31 October – Building Material 22 launch
7 November – Johansen Skovsted Arkitekter
14 November – IA17 and IA18 launch

Beyond this, we will also be announcing entry to the AAI Awards, a series of site visits, and a number of social events as well. With all that in mind, there are multiple benefits to becoming an AAI member. Membership is available to all, at any time of year, and runs from September to September

If you would like to be added to the list by renewing your membership or registering for the first time, please get in touch or sign up via the methods outlined below.
