AAI Lecture: Sound Advice – Hosted by Pooja Agrawal & Joseph Zeal Henry
7:30pm 31.03.22 @ The Space Between, Fenian St, Dublin 2 (Tickets here)
Joseph and Pooja met while working at the Greater London Authority, and share an interest in fighting against inequality both in the sector and the built environment itself. Critical of performative allyship and meaningless diversity statements, they have designed, commissioned, educated, created social enterprises and advocated for change. They also love music. Sound Advice was born out of these shared passions as an article written for the Afterparty zine in 2019, and now takes a variety of different formats, including visual podcasts, memes, DJ sets and a media channel. They have also crowdfunded and published Now you Know, a book that gathered the thoughts and reflections of more than 50 architects and urbanists of colour in an extraordinary compendium of essays, poems, interviews, and advice on how to address the discrimination baked into the built environment.
