Located in Smithfield this early Georgian terrace dwelling is undergoing renovation to create a contemporary home. The building was destroyed in a fire in the 1980’s with the majority of the original features eradicated. Part of the design intention was to retain and expose the original brick walls and allow the front facade to be reinstated to its former glory. Due to the density of the site the main living spaces were moved to the second floor to make the most of the solar gains throughout the day. A new top lit central stairwell connects all floors whilst allowing light deep into the plan and provides access to a new roof garden to take full advantage of the panoramic views across Dublin City Centre.
