Preparations for the 125th year of the AAI are underway. Get involved. #AAI125
Established in 1896, the Architectural Association of Ireland has been a consistent contributor to the culture of architecture on this island. Now entering its 125th year with the 20/21 committee to be elected at the upcoming AGM, the AAI is looking for members to get involved to keep the flame alight in these unpredictable times for cultural pursuits.
The pandemic has cut short the AAI programme for 2019/2020 with our DublinX3 lecture series and AAI Lightning Lectures night postponed until September at the earliest. With that in mind, we are proposing to extend the renewal date for existing memberships until January 2021 when we will officially begin our 125th year commemorations (TBD at AGM).
With a challenging year ahead, we thank all of our supporters, contributors, members and patrons for your continued commitment to the AAI mission to promote greater discussion, dissemination and engagement in architecture and the built environment.
We will begin planning our programme for 2021 and we welcome your suggestions, comments, feedback and participation in our AGM on July 14th. Please take the time to complete our member’s survey 7 days ahead of the meeting.
The AAI committee has continued to meet online, we have some virtual events planned for the summer and are looking into new methods of connecting with our members including a virtual site visit, online awards exhibition, members-only content and archive material.
If you have any other questions, queries or suggestions, please do get in touch.
